Problem Identification
It is noticed that some people who smoke every day feels that they are deteriorating their health due to this habit and they need someone to help them so that they can control the daily cigarette intake and finally quit smoking. This research below is therefore conducted to assess this issue.
User Research
The main objective of this research is to understand the insights into people’s smoking habits then identify what makes them feel good about smoking and their pain points on why they cannot control the amount of daily smoke intake during the entire day. Research interviews* are conducted on 3 subjects in the target audience pool (people who smoke). An empathy map is then created based on the interview findings, and problem statement is discovered.
Problem Statement
“An average person who wants to quit smoking needs to track how they are progressing towards their goal, so they can feel motivated towards quitting for good. They have tried other alternatives, but they feel like their progress is always too slow.”
Market Research
Through some research, it is discovered that QuitNow, Smoke Free and Kwit are current popular apps that may solve half of the problem above.
Though these 3 apps have their own strengths and drawbacks to the user’s problem, it would be more simple and convenient if these apps come with a physical device to tract the current health and habit of the user.

Solution
We believe that creating a mobile app like Smo-Free and a keychain paired with it for people who need to quit smoking will help them achieve their goal.
We will know this to be true when smoking addicts will promptly use our application and keychain for tracking their smoking habits and will self-improve by decreasing the tobacco consumption and our application downloads will increase by 10% each month after the launch of the app.
